Bar Heading

Bar headings help organize collections of information by establishing a sense of rhythm on the page, without using large text or loud colors. They are typically used as the lowest-level heading, just above the actual content.

Design Tips

By default, bar headings render in our darkest text color (navy). A light bar heading can be used to:
  • Denote a category of things that are done
  • Head a section of content that uses a lighter color

To avoid accessibility issues, don’t use a light bar heading on a non-white background. A warning bar header is used to draw attention to critical content, such past due tasks.
